I have to admit I am slightly intimidated by all things DPS and build related and, after being laughed at for my woefully bad DPS at a previous fleet event, I have tended to shy away from STO groups.

I'm glad you said something Bar'ol. I think more people than you might believe this when it isn't true. I promise that is the last thing on your teams mind, especially if you're struggling to fill a group.

No one is a burden. We all get together just to have fun with our fleet mates. If anyone is uncomfortable with a suggested activity, we simply do something else. It's not about completing set tasks, it's about having a good time with others in the fleet. If you are up for a challenge, then we're here to support you. If you just want to complete daily endeavors or events, we're down for that too. We just want everyone to enjoy these events. There is absolutely no pressure or expectation of ability. Everyone is welcome!

Seeing some of the outrageous damage levels and screen-murdering levels of sci-spam put out by certain UFP members in TFO’s I don’t think anyone needs to ever worry about being a burden on the team!! 😂

I’m fairly sure certain members could run the missions solo if it was something the game was built to allow!

I’m consistently the bottom on any DPS parser from events but it don’t bother me; I’m just there to enjoy the fireworks and the social side of things.

I reckon going for some more midweek events might be helpful. I can't guarantee when I'll be around on many days but if there were events spread out more over the whole week I could drop in more often.

Used to be a TFO Tuesday I think until a year ago or so.

This... My availability changes every week because I work irregular shifts (including weekends). When I'm not at work I'm a wife and mother first, a gamer second. An event on the same night every week means I can only attend [maybe] one week in four. If there were events on different nights I would try to attend whenever work and family permitted.

When I ran my old Saturday event I tried to make sure everybody was catered to, the important thing to remember is that if you have time and want to take part, come along and join the fun. I always encouraged an open and friendly atmosphere, any bad attitudes or anybody making you feel like you aren't contributing won't be tolerated.

Don't feel pressured into doing content in STO that you don't enjoy, don't worry about DPS or ship loadouts. If you works for you and helps you have fun, perfect!

Mentioned User Saelanna First of all, I'm terribly sorry you experienced any discouragement at any point from participating in our STO events. Much has changed over the last year and our primary focus for any and all events we put on is inclusion. No participant, regardless of skill level, DPS output, or style should ever feel unwelcome. We're striving to make the events a fun social event. DPS runs are a natural fallback for end-game characters and many of our regular participants seem to enjoy those. However, we always open up requests to all those joining. If at any point, you or another member feels unwelcome, let us and/or Jestersmith know so we can remedy immediately. I'd rather have events with 20 members having a great time doing randoms or lower level content than the same 5 members running the same TFOs every week (no offense intended to those regulars. I love my DPS routine as well.)

That said, I'm wondering if you would like us to do more themed events. Perhaps some events where we focus on "canon" builds and different timelines? Because that can certainly be arranged.

As far as scheduling goes, Miles and Phoenix have been pushing hard to mix things up and get additional events on the calendar. Hopefully those will better align with yours and other's schedules. We'd certainly love to see your barbie ships!

As Phoenix mentioned, Friday and Saturday runs are constantly scheduled. It was a time with mid-week Tuesday runs, but they were canceled due to lack of participation.

A certain DPS threshold is not a requirement for someone to join the events. Have in mind that DPS runs are limited to two TFOs, ISE & HSE. So, there are a lot more TFOs, patrols or missions that we can run and have fun as a team. Last Friday for example, we replayed the episode "Boldly they Rode". We had a lot of fun playing something that I have forgotten it's exists.

The goal of the events is the community members to have a good time playing the game.

I'll set up an event for thursday then for 20:00pm for uk, so i'll add that to the event now and see how many we can get to turn up, thank you all so very much for your feedback!

So for me personally I find very little in the endgame to incentivise me into doing much.

Yeah, I miss the old days sometimes. When Dyson came out and I ran a popular event hosting of STO as I made Trek like posters to advertise them (click my profile I still have the original ones in a gallery)... running with folks on Dyson BZ was really fun, clearing objectives, working towards clearing the map... it was more fun I think than 15 minute time gated maps.

Lately I pop in and do the event daily and putter around a bit then leave. I feel there is nothing fresh in game. We went from getting a whole story arc of 10 or more episodes, with loads of content to now one or two episodes with some gear. Makes me feel like it is a piece of cheese dangling at the end of a stick to nibble with no real bite in it.

I really enjoy this game, probably spent hundreds of dollars in in-game content with no regrets... but I feel there is just nothing much to do now and all appears repetitive at this point with nothing to work towards.

A new space or ground battlezone could be cool and I'd like to see a new one. But these days I'm counting the days of when the plug is pulled on this. A game from 11+ years ago can only do so much on a game engine of it's time, especially when it is competing in an era of sophisticated and deep MMOs and other story driven games, open world games taking big interest and higher end looking graphics. What keeps this title going is exactly just that, "Star Trek", aside from Bridge Crew, which I hear has some interest, there isn't much out there with the Star Trek name.

I had typically ran my STO events on weekends when most were off. But just burned out. Once you've played certain maps over and over again you typically have a strategy that you fall into to complete the time gated events. I like the battlezones because it opens the strategy up a bit more because it is a vast Battlefield with different approaches and objectives and everyone on a map collectively working towards clearing it can be entertaining.

Not sure what the life expectancy is for the game, I'll continue to pop in for the freebies during events... but I haven't jumped in a STF group in a long while for reasons mentioned.

While I know this is a welcoming community for anyone, whether you are seeking DPS in STO or not, I'm afraid I won't be able to join you all at the event.
As I am in a time zone that may seem awkward compared to you all, and as a student there is actually a lot of pressure from studying. More importantly, I don't speak English very well, so I may have a serious communication problem. I'm really sorry about that.
To compensate, I am more often found on the UFP community site talking to other players.
Truth be told, STO is not a very well known game where I live, let alone the players who make STO videos. (Although I'm just a VTB who only records videos and doesn't live stream games, my avatar picture is my L2D appearance. I say that because it makes it easier for you to understand. Although I'm not active on YouTube, but on other video sites)
So I've also gotten used to playing the game by myself.

I still feel slightly uncomfortable at the whole DPS side of things, but because you all were so very generous (I still find it hard to believe that I'm above average) I didn't want to immediately log out and not play for months like I did last time. I'm never going to chase the big numbers, that would suck all the joy out of the game for me, but I have slotted the reputation project for the bio-neural gel packs for my Intrepid
