That’s a good idea for once and in staggered they actually listen to the players suggesting this stuff.

Not normally a fan of time limited stuff but this should work well as it’ll drive sales and drain some dilithium away quite fast.

Be interesting to see the EC exchange prices on these after this happens.

Wow, this is actually a nice idea for once. It is disappointing that they are only running it such a short amount of time though with so little notice. That price is about a month's worth of dilithium refining per shield, so anyone not farming dilithium or who otherwise already has a large stash of dilithium sitting around is going to miss out. Particularly right now when the Zen exchange can't be used to pool dilithium across alts. Hopefully they make this idea a regular thing though.

There are some good vanity shields for certain ship looks. The EC exchange will take a hit soon when people flood it to sell for other things. Could be good for first in-line sellers. But if buying I'd wait when it becomes flooded to get a decent price. Typically I've seen the Tzenkethi one at the very most expensive as it isn't as prevalent.

Some points here, Emperor looks good on the Mirror Galaxy if you use the Legendary Mirror decals for the full effect.

S31 can make most Fed ships look menacing, i.e. the old Fed Intel ships, but the S31 looks awesome on the Jem'Hadar Temporal ship, kinda like a stealth plane of sort. I've use the S31 and or Ba'ul on my Suliban Flight Deck Carrier and it totally blacks it out like a legit stealth ship, only the engine exhaust. The Ba'ul is typically on my Phantom Intel Escort and looks awesome.

Disco looks good on some ships that don't already have Disco skins, i.e. the TOS ships and NX series might look good with Disco, even the Kelvin looks good on TOS ships.

I'd recommend Tzenkethi maybe for Romulan or KDF ships with its green like color scheme.

Borg is nice if you're going for a ultra tech plated like look and they have no engine trails on this specific shield.





If anyone is looking to see what they look like, with exception of the Ferengi, Hurq and Vash, I can take pictures of a ship and vanity shield if you're contemplating on one for your ship before dropping dilithium, EC or real coin for a vanity shield, to see how it looks. Or I can jump on STO and we can do in game viewing.

Guarentee it is per shield... 280k per shield appears more in line with Cryptics business position than a pack or they'd lose a lot on selling cheap like that.

Someone did the math and it is 448z for a single shield. Whereas to get them via keys it is apparently like 1125z. So like 1/3rd the price. Honestly, I'm quite happy, considering I've got my monthly stipend just sitting there and since I never can make money in any MMO I play, I can now finally get one of these shields. Now as for what shield though... Heck, I might buy a few just because.

I do get why they are doing a limited run though. They want people to spend to either buy these right away at a cheap price or to splurge on Zen to sell for dill to get them. I think we'll get a few things that will be continual, but they needed something for a quick fix and this will be that.

It is intriguing that they took what the reddit community suggested for a dill sink and used it. I wasn't actually expecting something like that.

I think something they could do is just make a few of the C-Store items available via dill. I would probably make a few of the items in the C-Store just available to purchase via dill. Probably via only bundles though, that way you can charge high for dill amounts and rid things that way.

I'm fairly sire it's for one shield. Still an decent price though considering the usual cost/means of getting these things.

I'm hopeful we'll see a lot more desirable items stuck in the dilithium store like this. A regularly rotating stock of highly sought after items would be a really good sink for dilithium.

Something I'd do it every so often just randomly stick a C-store ship in the dil store for a huge knock-down price; something like 50% off. People couldn't plan for it so you do not really lose lots of zen sales; but anyone with stacks of dil sitting doing nothing would be sorely tempted to impulse buy.

Are these brand-new vanity shields, or just copies of existing ones (like the ones we get from Tier6 of the reputation system)?
