In the year 2411, the battle between the newly formed Romulan Republic and the Tal Shiar still wages on. And two of the most powerful weapons in the arsenal of both factions are two of the most classic and powerful Romulan Starships: The D'Deridex, and the Scimitar. Now, these two ships are gaining Legendary editions, a celebration of each ship that includes every look, console, and trait these ships have had in Star Trek Online, and one new look for each ship!

Just as the previous ships of the lineage did when launched, the Legendary Scimitar Intel Dreadnought Warbird represents the cutting edge of Romulan starship design. Extreme power, violence, and strength all scream out of the harsh lines of the ship, when it deigns to make itself visible. That itself is a rare occasion, as the ship contains a uniquely powerful cloaking system, which can not only function with the shields still active, but can even manage to fire weapons without breaking its cloak for a duration. Topping all this awe-inspiring power, the ship's core powers contains a Thalaron weapon, capable of devastating incredible areas in a single blast emitted from its wingtips. Elegance, brutality, subterfuge, overwhelming presence, precision tactics, blunt application of force - all contradictions wrapped up and balanced on a knife's edge in one deadly package - or, rather, a sword's edge - the Scimitar.

This starship's design was influenced by the Tal Shiar Assimilated starships. These massive and imposing starships are durable and bristling with weaponry, but they are very slow to maneuver.

She's a Predator (Account Unlocked Starship Trait)


New Account Unlocked Trait: She's a Predator

Upon reaching level 6 in this starship's mastery, you will unlock the She's a Predator Trait for all characters on your account! While this trait is slotted, activating any attack pattern ability heals you for a percentage of your max health grants damage equal to your Ambush bonus, and reduces your cloak cooldown. This can only happen once per several seconds.

New Visual Variant: Tal’Shiar Adapted Dreadnought Warbird

Not content with splicing borg technology with mere battleships, Tal’Shiar scientists have finally succeeded in integrated nerve-stapled Borg technology with arcane Reman computer technology. This innovation has allwed them to develop and deploy massive adapted dreadnought warbirds assimilated from discarded wreckage of Scimitar-class Dreadnought Warbirds destroyed in the Iconian War. These technological monstrosities are sinister, ugly and imposing; just the way the Tal’Shiar likes it.

D'deridex



When the first D'deridex Warbirds began appearing along the Neutral Zone after more than 50 years of Romulan isolation, those who witnessed their awesome size and imposing presence could not deny the effectiveness of their design in intimidating would-be foes merely through the act of decloaking. When it became obvious that the ship's numerous offensive and defensive systems were more than capable of backing up such intimidation tactics, it quickly helped to cement the Romulan Star Empire's place as a power to be reckoned with in this region of known space. Although the face of the Romulan people has changed, and a new Republic has replaced the old Empire, the imposing form of the D'deridex is still a valued asset, even if it is now intended to inspire unity and hope, in place of fear.

New Visual Variant: I.R.W. Unity

The I.R.W. Unity was a specially constructed D’Deridex-class Warbird commissioned by Romulan Proconsul Neral in 2367. The Unity was built with lavish recreational and diplomatic facilities and was tasked with hosting delegations of colonies important to the Empire’s stagnating economy to establish influence with a softer touch. Her defensive capabilities were augmented as well to engage in “gunboat diplomacy” if the Empire’s new subjects decided not to roll out the red carpet.

The Unity made several successful tours showing the flag throughout the Empire until it was attacked and captured by a cadre of Garidian rebels in 2379. The rebels took advantage of the confusion surrounding Shinzon’s coup to seize the Unity while it was visiting their homeworld. Once under their control, the Garidians re-painted the hull in stark gray and red; it was now a symbol of defiance against Imperial authority. The Unity stayed in service through the end of the 24th century and eventually joined the Romulan Republic fleet, where it serves today, proudly retaining its distinctive paint scheme.

I very much want a Legendary D'Deridex, and a Legendary Mogai. The Scimitar puts me off completely.
If the bundle contained DD and Mog, with or without Scim, I'd be all over it though

I can't remember the prices of the other bundles, but it feels like this one is the same price with even less in it

Pretty expensive, nice ships though. Pretty new models. The Scimitar is the star of that bundle, but that Derpidex trait is gonna be real nice for some stealth torpedo nuke builds. Could be fun to play around with.

Both ships seem nice, and on sale 8400 for 2 legendary and 1 c-store ship plus a few obligatory bloat items isn't too hateful. Stats wise the Scimitar is pretty close to a Khopesh only a bit more durable and slightly more nimble, while the DD just seems to be a bit tougher than the Fleet T6 version. Not sure the intel and seating do a whole lot for the Scimitar, but the DD could be an interesting one, particularly since it is such an iconic symbol of TNG Rommies yet STO has left a lot to be desired

The sale is 35% not 30%, which means you only pay 7,800 Zen. Compared to other legendary bundles like the last one, the legendary D7, you're paying only 1,800 more to double the ship amount. This bundle has a few fluff items but others have worse fluff like the max level boost for one character that the D7 had.

you are correct i had worked it out at 30% so you do Indeed so its better again, take out the fluff thats 3900 a ship or 2600 if you count the T6 coupon.

The Scimitar would be nice, but I'm just not super interested in flying a whale...and I already have like half the stuff on the list and other than the ships and the upgrade tokens I have no use for any of it else.

And honestly low key disappointed the Scim is a Intel ship....already have SO MANY of them. I guess MW would have been too powerful giving it a 6th tac console. Could have made it command or (wishful thinking) temporal or even pilot since it had all those thrusters and such (kidding...mostly kidding lol)

I get it, we got the Intel Ambassador, Intel D7, and now the Intel Scimitar, but in this case, it makes sense. One of the key things the Scimitar is known for is its advanced cloak that allows it to fire under it. It's just a shame you have to equip the weak T5 console to do so instead of it just being a built-in passive.

I do think they need to buff intel at some point, the Gather Intelligence is just garbage and most intel abilities just aren't that strong. Maybe they'll rework it like what they recently did with command.
