I'm having an absolute blast with the game so far, but as has already been mentioned here the progression does feel like trying to do woodwork with a spoon. Hopefully that will be addressed as 343 do seem to be quite open to community feedback, they've got a proper, non-battle pass progression system in the works according to this, and, even though feature complete, it is still a beta (I've noticed a few bugs myself).

Regarding the download size, there is a 4k texture pack that's enabled by default, at least on steam, you can disable it in the DLC menu to save 7.68GB of space.

Core gameplay wise though this is a fantastic game, and I am looking forward to playing the campaign when it releases in December!

That definitely seems to be the biggest problem. It looks like 343 has really listened to feedback and is making fixing the system it’s “top priority” but they say it’s going to take a little while.

I think it’s amazing though how quickly they’ve listened to feedback and begun acting on it. Especially when other games as of late haven’t.

I'd less time to play last night and I'm shattered today so it'll probably just be a quick match or 2 again tonight, but I'm absolutely loving the game. They've confirmed that Season 1 has been extended until May 22 (they'd originally planned for 3 months to a season, so there's plenty of time to work through it) and have acknowledged the progression as something they're going to have a look at, so it's sounding like positive small steps.

I'm hoping they add in more challenges and better diversity to complete them for the weekly reward items, as some of them are ridiculous, like the kill 3 enemy wasps challenge - I've only seen 1 in all the matches so far - and certain ones aren't updating/tracking correctly either. I'm half wondering if we might get a reward or 2 given out for free while they sort things out.

PSA folks:

If you have enabled the minimum or maximum framerate limiter ingame, its recommended to disable it completely for now. Its currently messing up frame timers and causing a majority of the input lag on mouse and keyboard.

Disabling it makes the input much smoother. Recommend enabling the frame limits via the Nvidia control panel or AMD software if you want to cap fps.

343 are making some changes to the progression system which should be coming in late this week. There will now be a play 1 game daily challenge always available to aid in progression and a number of the weekly challenges are going to be fixed, adjusted or removed entirely, so the unnecessarily difficult and unpopular ones will be saying cheerio. XP boosters will also have their duration increased to an hour.

The bad news on this is that to make the changes, they have to wipe the challenge progress this week, but on the other hand, they're giving away this week's reward, the Mk 7 sigil visor for free as a goodwill gesture, so it'll be awarded to everyone who logs in between the 23rd and 30th.

I'm quite impressed at the speed they're reacting with, a lot of companies would stick their heads into the sand and hold out in the face of complaints or otherwise take weeks/months to sort issues out.

343i are listening to constructive feedback and trying to act on it in a great showing of good faith, even asking the community to keep it coming and keep raising any red flags.


I do hope they keep it up well past the launch next month, it is a nice change from what I've seen in the past in different games/companies.
