After receiving a cryptic, urgent distress call from Dr. Beverly Crusher, Admiral Jean-Luc Picard enlists help from generations old and new to embark on one final adventure: a daring mission that will change Starfleet, and his old crew forever.

Season 3 as we know sees the return of the TNG cast alongside the returning cast members from Picard Season 2. A new addition to the cast this year is Ed Speleers - his character name hasn't been officially revealed but a stuffed up press release identifies him as Jack Crusher - who will be a new regular.

Recurring cast members include Todd Stashwick as Captain Liam Shaw, Amanda Plummer as Vadic, Mica Burton as Alandra La Forge & Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut as Sidney La Forge. In addition, Orla Brady as Laris will appear, alongside Daniel Davis as Professor James Moriarty. There are numerous rumours regarding the appearance of other legacy characters from DS9 and Voyager, but info is thin on the ground as things seem to be heavily embargoed and subject to NDAs.

The Next Generation is the first episode and marks the beginning of the 10 episode strong final series.

Just watched it, uhm, honestly. NOT bad at all! better than season 1 or 2's start tbh!

Honestly.. i was smiling thru the whole thing.. the Initial sequence where we see Titan.. and even the "Intro Sequence" that was at the end.. it was amazing..

I haven't seen it yet (tomorrow for us non-US folks) but apparently they've also taken another STO ship, the Pathfinder class and made it canon and one of them is the Voyager-B which raises the question, what happened to the A?

Also the Pioneer class makes an appearance in a graphic listing ships in the fleet museum which includes Voyager and the 3rd ship with a name too blurry to make out but its highly implied to be the Enterprise A.

The Voyager-A is widely expected to be introduced in Star Trek: Prodigy season 2. Shuttlecraft with the Voyager-A's NCC designation appeared in the season finale for season 1. Since that show is set a few decades before Picard Season 3, presumably that ship is decommissioned or destroyed to open the road for Voyager-B.

All in all, I enjoyed the firat episode and it seems to be off to a good start to the season. Looking forward to next week.

An enjoyable episode, albeit a bit confusing. The Titan is a Neo-Constitution class ship? Was her being a Luna class not official. They did talk about a refit, but that would be an upgrade, not change your entire class.

Loved this episode. The interplay between Riker and Picard was wonderful. I actually managed to pick up on a few easter eggs instead of having to find out afterwards like I normally do. Especially the Red Lady. The dedication at the end did make me go, 'Oh!' and have to blink hard a few times.

The one in Picard is the Titan-A and officially it's listed as Constitution III. The Luna Class one that Riker commanded according to some writer's lore was undergoing a refit after taking damage but Starfleet decided to go a different direction so rather than continuing, it was instead decommissioned in 2398 and some of the ship systems got removed and repurposed for the new Titan.

Unlike the STO version, the canon Luna is apparently classed as a Tactical Battlecruiser.

This ship is the Titan-A, Luna Class was decommissioned after getting seriously damaged under Riker's Command (See: @StarTrekLogs instagram account - Video on USS Titan HERE)

I liked it the music was great so many musical easter eggs and so much more. I hope they don't spend the whole season drip-feeding the TNG members to us as I expected to have seen most in the 1st episode hopefully they have that done in e2 and then get on with the story.

wonders if they will do a Kirk and Carole Marcus on us with the kid being Picard's unknown son. Hope its more than that

Ships in the museum. It is indeed the Enterprise-A and also the original Excelsior alongside the Pioneer and original Voyager.

I just watched it, it's certainly got lots of winks and nods, and oh my, the bad guys have a really big ship. Raffi is working for a Section 31 AI or something similar? No shortage of possible plot twists and turns here..

Much better opener for the final season! Hate that its a two parter for the first episode… I gotta wait 7 more days for more.

Also side note: Screw Captain Shaw… those comments he made me angry.

Edit: Also noticed during raffis convo with her handler, there was a news story that caught my eye that said the Enterprise F was slated for early decommission. I think we’ll be seeing more of her.
