Picard grapples with an explosive, life-altering revelation, while the Titan and her crew try to outmaneuver a relentless Vadic in a lethal game of nautical cat and mouse. Meanwhile, Raffi and Worf uncover a nefarious plot from a vengeful enemy Starfleet has long since forgotten.

Sidenote: Though only the First season is currently there, Picard has started to appear on the international versions of Paramount+

The Episode was good but there where behaviour by characters that simply did not fit them in this case Riker was way off too Picard but Worf was hilariously funny and the aftermath to the Dominion War is good.

Agreed on Picard and Riker are at loggerheads and arguing and disagreeing seems strange, Will it be changling related who knows liked this one.

Also Sisko would have been delighted if he could have knocked out a changeling of his disguise by simply hitting them.

Agree that the episode was good and I'm really liking what they've done with Worf so far. The Riker/Picard rift growing towards the end of the episode is a bit odd though. Given the family troubles Riker was hinted at having in the first episode, the previous loss of his own son, plus the fact that Riker is watching Picard grappling with fatherhood and his own son, I suspect that the story will show Riker is projecting some of his own family frustrations here and maybe the episode break here was just awkward. With these serialized Trek shows like Discovery and Picard, they always seem to play better as a back-to-back marathon binge than spacing out across a few months.

For the first time I enjoyed Raffi, albeit because she is now the sidekick of the most badass character in Trekdom. I also like how they gave Picard a chance to be pissed with Beverly for not giving him the chance to be involved in his sons life, this I found really needed to be addressed.

The split between Riker and Picard does feel a little forced, but I think they will resolve it quickly (I hope).

I felt they really highlighted Jack Crusher, LaForge Jr. and Seven. Perhaps a spinoff series in the works?

Final comment, a possible Cold War / escalation between the Alpha Quadrant powers and the Dominion? Oh hell yeah!

Worf did say that he got contacted by the founders (which i assume Odo) about a splinter faction. So this is probably their work. Maybe not the full Dominion but a part of it. It might lead to maybe cooperation between Dominion and Federation eventually. at least temporarely.

We'll have to wait and see. Reportedly Paramount+ is joining other streaming services in looking at budget cuts, so it remains to be seen what this means for Star Trek specifically. An announcement just came out today that this next season will be Discovery's last season, we already have been told this is the last season of Picard, and I'm not sure that we've heard a ton about Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, or Prodigy beyond each of their next seasons yet. Given the timing of the rumors and the Disco message today, there is a chance that Trek isn't necessarily safe unfortunately.

I imagine Strange New Worlds to be the safest of the current series given its popularity and it's likely considered the lynchpin of the franchise now, but I'd expect to see the in development series including the long delayed Section 31 spinoff with Michelle Yeoh to get the chop before any of the current series do.

Wow! What a thrilling episode!! The tension between Jean Luc and Riker at the end.. has he lost faith in Picard? Oh boy.

Changelings?! Loving the decision to bring them back into the villain seat, even if it just a rogue faction. The greatest threat the Federation has ever faced and it only took 5 to send earth into tizzy in DS9.

This seems to get a little tedious and repetitive, it seems like every single thing that could possibly go wrong, well, goes wrong. Then every OMG we're working on it gets dragged out with a countdown of something really bad. I suppose it's long standing Trek cliche once in a while, but seems like they're just trying to add empty minutes to an already short 10 episode season.

As for hope for expanding Trek, I remain skeptical. Both Rebecca Romjin and Michelle Yeoh are solid talent, I think both won major awards recently, and I dread what seems a long standing tightfisted Trek production. Are they still willing to write the checks? Isn't Michelle Yeoh currently in some popular show? Rebecca Romjin also for that matter?

Edit == If I had to try to second guess Hollywierd, I would be thinking hopefully in great jest, the ultimate joke on Jim Kirk would be Captain Seven of the Enterprise libertinely roaming space as a polysexual wildwoman, er, person, seeking out, um, strange new relationships with any alien they came across.. but probably better not to give them ideas like that
