With time running out, Picard, Riker and crew must confront the sins of their past and heal fresh wounds, while the Titan, dead in the water, drifts helplessly toward certain destruction within a mysterious space anomaly.

Sidenote: Seasons 1 & 2 are now available in their entirety on Paramount+ (at least in the UK) and the third is also currently being released at 1 episode a week on the service.

Two things here.

Frakes = Money.

That was quite possibly the best Episode of Star Trek under the Kurtzman regime ever.

Two terrible Seasons of Picard, are completely forgotten with this Season just imagine if this would have been Season 1.

Amazing episode, I usually watch with subtitles on (I’m old, fight me!) and during jacks little freakout in the end it showed who was speaking: “[Borg Queen] Find…”

Also shaw outright stated that the real borg are out there still which tells me that Jurati’s collective is entirely separate from OG Borg.

Edit: also this just got me: “Will, did you just throw an asteroid?” “Goddamn right I did”

The thing with the Borg Queen is either a mistake or that might be one of the coolest stories in the history of all Star Trek.

Edit: On Amazon it does not say Borg Queen for me.

I watched it on Paramount+ thats odd unless they used a sound bite to make the distorted audio

Who knows but I can't wait for the next episode.

Edit: There is however already a lot on mentioning of the Borg and Locutus in the first four Episodes.

That was probably the best news for me, the Borg are way to good of an Enemy.

Can we talk about the incredible acting from Todd Stashwick? The Trauma and obvious PTSD Shaw has from Wolf 359, his anger towards Picard. However misguided as Picard has no say on his actions that day.

It was god tier acting. and Probably the most vivid reflection of the actual damage the Borg did that day, to the people that survived it.

I knew i liked Capt. Shaw, Not gonna lie it solidified it for me. He is a flawed man, but he is only human. He's still a damn good Starfleet Officer.

I agree with you his acting is great. I wonder however why Starfleet would make Seven his XO though.

Todd Stashwick addresses this, from his own head canon, for the way that he approached his character of Liam Shaw. This begins around the 37:20 minute mark. This lasts for a couple of minutes, and works for me to explain why Seven is his First Officer, although not official canon.

Oh my, what an episode. Seeing the crew of the Next Generation combined with the Titan crew escaping death is like seeing TNG all over again and I love it. The combined emotions I had when Riker asked Picard to take command and then the TNG theme music just blows in majestically.
I'm also inclined to say that this might have been the best episode of the season so far, although all of them were amazing, this one was just a lifetime experience.

Probably influenced by Picard/Janeway or a mix of both. I can imagine he said no but was overruled.
