Fantastic ending for the final ride of the Next Generation!! It was such a privilege seeing the the old 1701-D fly again, she has spirit. I was disappointed that they didn’t bring the Enterprise F back, but the giving seven command of the G is so fitting. Janeway would be proud!

Ok so is Q back or is this another “younger” version of himself? I wouldn’t have put it past him to pretend he was dying to teach Jean Luc one final lesson, but it looks like we’re getting a series following the adventures of Seven and the Enterprise.

Got spoiled on the reveal so here I am with some thoughts without having any idea about the actual show. Before someone asks, I was planning on binging the whole show.

I get why they made the Titan an Enterprise. The Constitution like appearance, the fact new and old blood are running the ship and probably because it is getting a show. The only problem is that this probably means there's two Enterprises running around the 25th century, as that's the only explanation that would make STO lore sense. Which makes the whole "It's Another Enterprise" joke an actual thing now, so that's kind of funny.

If we want to attempt some semblance of keeping STO in the loop, it probably means that what will likely change in STO, is that the Enterprise-F is going to be destroyed at some point. During the storyline, Shon will decide that he's not worthy of the Enterprise name or something, he'll take another ship name and let Enterprise-G be the only ship with the name. I'd probably wager the one Undine episode with the Aquarius blowing up changing to Shon taking instead the Enterprise-F into it or during some point in the Iconian storyline.

Would mean the shortest time that the Odyssey is the Enterprise-F, but at least it is some time. Though that could be changed by having Shon be the only long serving Captain of the Enterprise-F from 2390 something to 2411. That would grant it 10+ years with the name and also play into the two Enterprises at the same time.

The new name will probably be in honor of an actor that's passed, via their character. Not sure which name would make the most sense on the change, but that's what I would do really to make sure we're not entirely screwing over STO. At least attempt some brand synergy here. Gods this just really puts so many screws to what STO is doing. Sad

Voting for "Star Trek: SEVEN" Live Long and Prosper

Now that she's the captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise-G... why not? Together with Raffi, Jack and Geordie's two daughters I am sure this would be a great new Trek show. Let's also not forget Q's short appearance. I guess he is already planning something new in order to mess up things! Wink

Summing it up I loved this episode as I loved the whole third season with its many emotional moments - some making me smile and laugh, others casting a little tear in my eyes. The attack run on the Borg Cube and blowing up the whole thing reminded me a bit of the Death Star II scene in Star Wars, but hey... it was very cool how Data managed to fly the good old D through this obstacle course with Beverly shooting everything to bits like a pro, wasn't it? Cool

Oh boy, this season really had am impact if you ask me leaving me in awe and with a feeling of gratitude for this wonderful experience with the "old" D-crew - the crew I grew up with in the 80s / 90s.

What is next to come? We will see, but I'm sure we will definitely go out there again... where no man has gone before! Live Long and Prosper

    I'm looking forward to this.

What an excellent end to an amazing season. Very fitting send off for the old timers and their ship; plus a really promising set-up for continuation of the franchise with what I can only assume will be Star Trek: Legacy going off the hints dropped here.

Finally got some real body-horror HR Geiger style Borg which was a really treat! These guys always felt a bit DIY-costume in the past but the rotting, damaged queen really upped the game on how horrific such a “species” really would be.

Seeing the fat one doing a nifty ROTJ Death Star at run was a sight to behold; that’s what we were missing all the years when models or CGI budgets limited what could be shown on screen.
I don’t even have a problem with the moves itself; these ships are in source with no gravity, no atmosphere, and have advanced power/engine systems, and they can bend space at will. No reason it couldn’t fly like that; ever seen a C17 do a barrel roll or an aircraft carrier turn in a dime? Big machines can be surprisingly manoeuvrable!

Really looking forward to what we get with a new Enterprise captained by Seven with Raffi, Jack and La-forge on hand as crew.

And of course it had to end with a poker game…. This is the way.

Magnificent conclusion for the TNG crew! I tweeted Terry Matalas the same thing regarding his ship of choice...
The Enterprise belongs to the best/strongest/most advanced ship class Starfleet has to offer but from what I can tell, he's a massive fan of the Connie refit so it is what it is. If he really wants Neo Connie to be the Enterprise then he just needs to magically "Titan refit" it again into larger, more powerful version of itself. At this point it doesn't matter lol. Also, I'm loving Sol Station. In my book she's as much a hero as the Enterprise-D

I've waited before posting, as I hope everyone by now has seen it. (No idea how to do the spoilers bit on here lol)

Overall this season has been nothing short of brilliant, a real treat for fans (and actors I think) with the highlight being "Vox" last week.

As for the final episode - There were bits I loved and bits I would have...not done, if I were given the artistic control

    Bits I liked

    • Loved the representation of a very bitter Borg Queen - she had "Davros" star quality about her, spiteful, annoyed, totally insane... everything you would expect from an arch enemy of Picard. (Costume and make up deserve an Emmy or two in my opinion for their work on the whole season, but clinched it with her.)
    • Loved the whole Tuvok/Seven dynamic, Tim Russ just knows "vulcan" - he gets the ability to add humour with just an arch of an eyebrow, and suddenly I was transported to a Voyager episode. The scene was powerful, believable and a welcome addition to the episode.
    • Loved the Poker ending, taking us all the way back to "All good things - part 2" - a very welcome soft landing as we all say a final goodbye to the next generation. I was so pleased to have this opportunity, Nemesis did many things (mostly badly) but robbing us of a really good final goodbye to the crew was probably the worst - that has now been resolved, in a way that makes Nemesis less of a failure in my opinion.

    And now...
The bits I did not like
    • The idea that space dock could resist that much fire power over that amount of time... that felt like a bit of reach to me, it would have been better for either crew to have found a way to block the signal... even if only temporarily... a stand off in orbit so to speak.
    • You do not fly a Galaxy class starship like a shuttle... I can't have it zooming through superstructure like the Millennium Falcon. Now if Data had taken a shuttle and done that? awesome... but the Enterprise? No, that scene made me do that ugly face "really?" look... and I hate it when I do that look.
    • Borg drones should be ugly, Jack was still way too pretty... (look, as a gay man myself, I am very happy to find Ed Speleers attractive, but as a fully assimilated borg drone... nope. The whole point is to lose your humanity within those suits, I have enough personal issues without finding the borg attractive! (Head nod to the nanites mimicking Locutus' eye laser tho).
    • Renaming the Titan... I hated that decision... The flagship of the fleet goes from an Odyssey class - to a Neo-Con class? Come on... no... Personally I was hoping, as Jack was explaining the name change to his dad, that they had called it the USS Picard... now I would have been 100% behind that move, and it would have been a way to really keep the legacy going. But the Enterprise? No... you can have an incredible legacy series without naming it Enterprise... Voyager proved that.

According to Kael STO is going to keep its own timeline.

Not surprising but to me at least it's pretty disappointing.

13 years of carrying the banner for the franchise just got flushed.

Just a heads up for any music freaks like me, the official soundtrack of Picard Season 3 is now available, all I can say is wow. As much as Season 3 was a gift to us all in terms of nostalgia and fan feel good easter eggs, the soundtrack is just as powerful in that regard too.

You can listen to the album on YouTube here

A real head nod and tribute to both Goldsmith and Horner - a truly atmospheric ride of themes and motifs. Well worth a listen on your chosen streamer of choice.

    Personal favourites from me:

Track 3: Leaving Space dock - Horner fans (STII-WoK) will get this one in the feels. Plays tribute to the Wrath of Khan themes and really makes you feel the beginning of a journey (much in the same way Howard Shore does with the Fellowship theme in LOTR) - lots of energy, horns and sublime strings to take you out of Space Dock and into the vastness of a new adventure.

Track 16: Klingons never disappoint - Grab your bat'leth, close your eyes and be immediately transported to Qo'noS - nothing but pure Klingon energy, fast paced, sweeping strings and of course all rounded off with hints of the legendary Klingon theme from Jerry Goldsmith - echoing back to The Motion Picture...

Track 18: Legacies - A full homage to theme tunes we've all grown to know and love. The piece gently moves us through childhood memories, we get treated to soft reflections of the original series theme by Courage and Roddenberry, Deep space 9 by McCarthy sweeping us all to the comfort of the softest version of Goldsmith's Voyager I've ever heard... but in many ways each version is treated to an almost Chattaway filter - a homage indeed to great composers of Star Trek history.

Track 32: Make it so - To be honest - this album's crowing glory can only be track 32 - it is pure Goldsmith, infused with hope, comforted by nostalgia and of course features the music we were all hearing as the Geordi said the words "Computer... lights", and we all got reacquainted with the missing cast member of old - The Enterprise D. Just like the curves and waves of her primary and secondary hull - the music swoops and builds to the crescendo moment of "make it so" - and we were all sat in tears watching our heroes depart the Fleet Museum and head off to save the day.

Whether you're doing housework, playing STO, writing that essay that needed to be in 3 days ago - get this album on your favourite lists... In my opinion, it's the best Easter Egg of them all.

One thing I'll say, at least the mystery question of what happened to the Klingon B'rel HMS Bounty that sank in San Francisco Bay from "The Voyage Home" got a small backstory of how it came into the fleet museum... Almost seemed to have been written out like Sybok in "The Final Frontier" until it made a reappearance...

Ok so is Q back or is this another “younger” version of himself? I wouldn’t have put it past him to pretend he was dying to teach Jean Luc one final lesson, but it looks like we’re getting a series following the adventures of Seven and the Enterprise.
I started laughing when he was explaining himself to Jack. All I could think about was the Jeremy Bearimy timeline from The Good Place.

I know I'm late to the party, but I loved Picard S3...especially after what I thought was a somewhat weak S2. I was 16 again every time I tuned in. And the soundtrack was full on brilliant. Have my copy on Vinyl ordered. :-)

I feel the Titan being renamed the Ent-G was fitting. At it's heart, the Enterprise has always been an explorer ship first and foremost. In general it's the crew that pushed the Enterprise (1701) name to the status of flagship (for B onward anyway). So, I consider crew of the Titan-A and what they achieved and felt that it makes the ship fitting of the name Enterprise in my book.

I also saw some comment from (I think it was) Dave Blass somewhere that the Titan name would be used again, but it was more fitting for the successor to the Luna class.

I really want more backstory on some of the ships at the museum too.

Anyway, I'm hoping they pull the Constitution III into ST:O and make a model available. That's one I want.
