New Head of Community Gaming

Greetings,

The end of the year approaches, and we have one change to annouce right now, for those who were at the UFPAC today, you would have seen that Petrach has stepped down from FEO, and his incoming replacement is Bridger. We would like to thank Petrach for everything he has done for the community, and the work that he has put in, I'm sure he won't be a stranger!

Bridger comes in with a huge level of experience in leading the Star Trek Online side of the community, so the key change is an expansion to his porfolio, and I'm sure many of you already know of him at the very least. We look forward to seeing what Bridger can bring to Team Orange!

So please, join me in thanking Petrach for his efforts, and congratulating Bridger on his new found responsibilities!

Since you don't currently have a boss, as the role is now empty, Bridger is acting as your boss, so is still your boss.

Many, many thanks to Petrarch from the Ares Roleplay Staff Team for all the work he has done for the community in the gaming area: the UFP would certainly not be the same without the effort he has put in. In that same vein, many, many congratulations to Bridger for the promotion! We at ARP will be looking forward to working with him.

Thanks everyone, before I say anything else let me start by congratulating Bridger and wishing you all the best with the job ahead. The bridge is yours and it's in a safe pair of hands.

My stepping aside was something I chewed on for several months and it wasn't a decision made lightly or on a whim, however I felt that I was no longer the right person for the job at hand. I guess I can best describe it as realising that my time was coming to an end, as my attention has been required elsewhere in recent months with sorting out matters at home and a few other things pulling me away from the UFP, so I knew the band was starting to play and the curtain was falling. I've been with the UFP for a little over 6 and a half years now, worked my way up through SFA and spent the last 5 years in FEO and that now brings us to today which marks my official retirement. While I am taking a step back, I won't be a total stranger and I'll never be too far away, so I'll still be there in the background watching, listening and I'll break cover every so often.

I'll sign off with an unofficial verse from the Red Dwarf theme that I've always found rather catchy:

"I'll pack my bags and head into hyperspace
Where I'll succeed at time-warp speed
Spend my days in ultraviolet rays
Fun, fun, fun in the sun, sun, sun"

Thank you Petrarch for your work as head of community gaming. Enjoy your retirement from UFP and don't be a stranger I know we in Ares are more than happy for you to browse and I will have a spot open for you in Star Trek Adventures sessions.

Bridger best of luck in your new role and getting all your new responsibilites under your belt. I'm sure you will do great in this new managerial role. Though it may take me some time to get used to you in CL6 orange.
