Following on from feedback from the community in respect of Technical Services support, FEO has established formally the Technical Services Department, under the management of Pedigo as Head of Technical Services and Jess as the Deputy Head of Technical Services.
This department is now also open to accepting applications for support personnel in the CL4 staffing.
We are looking for people with technical skills in web design, website management, server management, coding and other back-end services support to become Technical Services Engineers to support the Head and Deputy Head with day-to-day maintenance and operation of our services. This is a Tier 3 position with considerable levels of trust imbued upon these individuals, so there will be a Tech Vet and an examination for all applicants. We are also looking for those who wish to support those of a technical persuasion with lesser tasks such as liaising with members who request technical services, assisting Engineers with tasks as well as learning and developing technical skills as a Technical Services Technician. This is a Tier 2 position and you can apply for that HERE
Lastly, should you need to submit a request for technical services, we have agreed that the previous process of simply sending a forum PM to a tech person is not a sufficient method to provide tracking of requests or to make others aware that the task needs to be done. As a result, a ticketing system has been implemented within the Technical Services forums and you can raise a request in the SUPPORT CENTRE by clicking on the "Technical Services Requests" link at the top of the forum. You can raise website, forum and discord requests as well as raise bug reports. These will then be processed and handled by Technical Services.
This is a very important change we've made to how the UFP handles technical services and we thank all members who have raised this as a concern in the past.

Very happy to see Tech Services come to full power with Jess and Pedigo. I'm still under taking my studies in Cyber Security so not enough knowledge to help yet but I wish all those applying to both new positions the best of luck and who knows, maybe in a year or two I'll be doing my own application.

Well done to the top brass for formalising this department, especially considering how important and central it is to everything we do. Congrats also to Pedigo and Jess as leaders in this area. I wish you nothing but clean code and virus-free updates.
