It is with sadness that I report a pause in the lockboxes we annouced just yesterday. It turns out there were too many bugs in the system, and payment wasn't processing, so we weren't getting money, and many of you weren't getting prizes. As such, we are pulling this feature from the UFP for an indefinate amount of time, we are deeply sorry for any problems, or confusion this may have caused you.

If you got a promotion to Crewman, you are able to change back to your old rank at any time by clicking here, or going into My UFP.

If you enjoyed the rainbow names so much, you can have them, however you also must suffer the glorious pink theme, Jess will be working on implimenting this, and I thank her for all the work put in.

Although I am sad to see it go it was a lot of fun. I do hope you are able to resolve the bugs and bring back the lockboxes (I never did get the Sim2 one).

I am happy to have the pink theme, doubly so if it means I get the colourful name again. And while it was fun to be a lowly crewman the rooms available to a Commodore are slightly better than the shared bunks found for lower enlisted personel so to try and get some sleep back I'll be retaking my rank and appropriate room.

Thank you to Three, Jess and Eagle for doing some amazing work to bring it all together. And this year the achievement even works so I got the Fool achievement too. It brought laughs and smiles to me for the whole day and I loved every part of it, a good joke not built around trickery or getting on up on them but just fun and shennanigans (I said it, don't come for me).

Looking forward to both the optional pink return and next years prank already.

April Fools is one of my favourite times on the internet, though sadly this year, not many websites seemed to do anything, but I've always aimed for it to be about fun, and shennanigans. I don't think harmful jokes are funny, and always try to avoid those, yeah we've had some that don't quite land, but never anything more than harmless jokes.

Also, I am greatful to both Jess and Eaglesg for finally being able to bring to life one of the April Fools jokes I have wanted to have on the UFP for a long time! It's been stuck in my head for so long, and to finally see it was great.

Finally, there was a Discord group chat going on about all this for a while, I came up with the name for our little cohort of tricksters.

It was so much fun designing and developing the lockbox system. The odds may have been off but it was still loads of fun seeing what people got!

But it seems it was short lived, I'm an Officer again, and now I must find an Ensign to boss around or something. Back to the grind!!!
