You have a choice, you can either face death with no chance of being revived by the medical team or you can be assimilated and become part of the collective, with the slim chance of being freed one day in the future. What fate would you choose?

I did state "no chance of being revived" in the choice, so no magic blood will save you, there is no cure. It wouldn't be much of a choice if there was a cure.

Also Kirk did die fully, a bridge fell on him and he was dead, like fully dead.

I originally chose assimilated because I felt as long as you're alive there is always hope.... but Star Trek has had pretty good success at bringing the dead back to life....so now I'm not sure!

I'm going to go with death. Preferably the kind that takes some borg with me and give the lore-singers a good tale to tell. Yes you may be able to be rescued from assimilated servitude but what will you do while you are assimilated?

I am crossing universes here, but this was my thought on being assimilated, with nanites as your ring:
I would use this ring from a desire to do good... But through me, it would wield a power too great and terrible to imagine.

Definitely dead. In the grand scheme of things, how likely is it that I'd be liberated really? Looking at TNG and VOY, it's clear that removing an individual from the Borg is a ridiculously rare occurrence. I'd rather not spend decades or centuries (how long do individual drones live anyway?) being a slave, destroying other species, and posing a risk to the Federation!
