I just want to say that this was a stellar mission run - thanks to both Josh and Strathkin. If we (including myself) could all have missions akin to this with a good flow, good detail, good story, and done in less than a year, we'd be in good shape.

So hello there. I've been a bit absent lately given some RL issues, but I have been paying attention. I will be chiming in on my own items here in Ares in the next couple days.

But in general, how are things going? Is there anything else I can be doing, or others in the command structure?

It's been a while since we've discussed amongst each other so I thought I'd inquire!

Great to hear. I am going to wrap-up my own Patrol mission and then get a reply in for the Romulan Negotiations mission.

I'll be thinking of a 2nd Mission Pack that might be a bit more tied into itself - a bit more coherent. I welcome ideas in this thread of how to manage all of us crazies and running a few missions all at once.

So, I've created a Dossier for the Endalla and her Crew. I decided to use the crew I wrote for my no defunct Star Trek fan fic: Things Left Undone. While some changes will have to be made to accomadate the roleplay here, I'm going to keep them as I know them. Their stories are pretty fleshed out in my head. Should be fun.

Now what?

Only free slot on a mission that could get going right away is "The Cloak That Should Not Be", but the Iowa's captain has been absent for 2 weeks.

Should I do a shake down cruise to introduce everyone to my crew?

Been a while since I've roleplayed, and this is an interesting way of doing things (only one's I've participated in or ran had people play the crew, not an entire ship).

Seems like a nice idea!!! You should try to contact the Simulations Officer Staff on this such as Captain Caymen. He's the best guy to answer this. But, I dont see why not

Thank you so much for your interest

The stories are only tools to help people with writing ideas, you don't HAVE to follow them. You can make your own story! if you want to do a shakedown story, go for it! If you want to do something else, why not?

If you need help, feel free to talk to Eaglesg or Cayman (although I think he's gone on a LOA).

Hey there Aceman. As others have said, things are pretty open here in Ares. I would ensure that you adhere to our timeline and plot setting, listed in the main article for Ares. Other than that, things are pretty easy going.

For a shakedown mission, I think that is important as a writer to get your juices going. You could piece it out into any number of crew even, and do it over time. I did mine like this (https://ufplanets.com/showthread.php...n-First-Patrol).

For missions, as mentioned by others, you can make your own as you wish, but we also have mission packs that will guide folks to work together towards a common goal. The first mission pack is closed now, with two running missions (e.g., https://ufplanets.com/showthread.php...n-Negotiations). But alas, a second mission pack - with more closely tied missions this time - is in the works. So stay tuned for that.

I hope this helps. The first step is the dossier, which you've done, and then a possible shakedown/solo mission. So you're right on track!
