I started watching in Season 2, off my PVR.

Was on the fence up until the recent two-parter, and now it's got me hooked.

Still zero interest in Discovery though.

Just finished all of the S2 episodes I haven't seen yet (I ended up watching them out of order because the torrent site I used didn't have them named properly).

Anyways, the show definatly has that Voyager feel for me. I'm a little disappointed in how the Identity Pt 2 episode ended.

Just finished "Lasting Impressions".

Barclay with sex. 500 cigarettes (the pillow was a nice touch!).

It's going to get deep and dark in this spoiler. Do not open it lightly.

There are twists and turns through the science and the philosophy of 'The Here and Now' of it all (and the philosophy is magnitudes scarier), and greater minds than mine have spent lifetimes pondering these things. But it makes me wonder, "If everything that has come before -- in all of creation -- have led us to THIS moment, am I doing enough with it?" The answer is, inevitably, "No. No, I am not." Then I eat ice cream.

I understand the subcurrent. The question of what gets left behind. Legacy. Memory. Remembrance. Is there something inside of me that people will remember after I'm gone? I know the answer, and I am still working on accepting it. Once the paperwork is done and my physical remains have been processed, I will be forgotten. Some day my computer will be destroyed, the files on it will be gone. My Twitter and facebook accounts, my gmail accounts, imgur, and this account will all be deleted and the data in them will be erased. I will have left nothing of substance to carry on after me. I will be an entry in a half-dozen census books and a few vital records.

I was going to delete this. I thought about it a couple of times. I decided not to. This is what this episode of The Orville has stirred up in my mind, and it's what good sci-fi does. It puts you in uncomfortable positions sometimes. It makes you see what life is in its beauty and its ugliness. Most of all, good sci-fi makes you think.

This is what "Lasting Impressions" made me think.

I enjoyed the episode. I'm really thinking they blew their budget on the Identity 2-parter.

The Disney purchase of Fox went through this week. I'm wondering if that is why there has been no news on Season 3. I read that Seth's contract was up with Fox at the end of 2019. My guess is the renewals (if they happen) would be announced together maybe?

My gut tells me that The Orville will end up as an exclusive on Disney's new streaming service.

It was a very interesting episode, recreating the live of a person based on her cellphone and all her interactions, pictures messages would make me thing what they would learn from my phone.

The addiction part was also very entertaining.

We've been watching it since the series premiered. Never missed a single "live" episode, but we have Hulu for our nightly binge watching sessions. We go through the entire series every day and a half.

Of course that's not all we watch, but we're huge fans of Seth MacFarlane.

Sadly no episode of season 2 has been aired in Germany yet. Waiting for the german episodes as I have watched season 1 in German.

Sanctuary was another good Episode about the Moclans, diving deeper into their culture, btw one of the Council Moclans was played by Tony Todd, and not to forget Marina Sirtis.

Yeah it really made you think about the what if's of mono gendered society, how females are born, but are made to conform the societal norms of Moclan culture.

Found it interesting how much the union depend on the Moclans for their military hardware, you figure they'd jointly develop their tech and not depend on a single race for a specific tech.
