There are, if you specify it. If you don't, then it defaults to the zone you are in when you enter the command.

How long does it take for the demo launcher to start up initially? Just downloaded it and starte dup, and it's been sitting on the splash screen for at least 3 minutes now.

edit: Nevermind... the splash screen was large enough to hide an error message behind it. Upon force exiting it, the error message was visible. basically said I had no demos to show. Started up STO briefly to run a demorecord, quit STO, started up the demolauncher again, all dandy now!

So playing around with it, there are a couple more key binds useful:

WASD - as mentioned in OP. Moves around forward, backward, left, right
Q - moves upwards
Z - moves downwards
R - returns to starting point
Left + right mouse button - moves forward (just like ingame)
Space bar - moves upwards
Left - right arrow keys - changes timescale

I recorded a bit of Vrina's ship as I knew she was somewhere in DS9 space but far away from the station. Yet you can travel all the way to the station and see all ships at the moment there, which is quite neat. Though then of course had trouble finding my own ship out in the wild... hitting bunch of keys randomly found the above, R being the most useful one in that case

One thing to perhaps consider, is an Advanced & Basic Screen Shot Guide. Perhaps for those looking for a quick or easier path for those a little less technical?

NOTE:
/renderscale x [1/2/3] works in both Demorecord & STO Text Chat Commands to offer higher resolutions.
/screenshot & /screenshot_jpg also both work to save images [the first is PNG format] to the similar path:
X:\Program Files(x86)\Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online\Live\screenshots

You can also disable UI [temporarily] without using those, selecting ALT-F12 or change the Key Bind Options for 'Toggle Show Game UI', it is located near the bottom of Keybinds, within Options. Then you can even use Control PrtScn / Alt PrtScr to allow Windows to take a full screenshot, or windowed screenshot, to then paste directly into your Graphic or Visual Editor of choice.

Both options could be included, as we have Advanced & more Basic Users, depending on their abilities &/or Interests.

I admit I 'love' the more Advanced version you've provided by far, it gives a lot of extra option(s) to get exactly the right image, in addition to tweaking Ship Names, Skins, and far more. This is amazing!

The ~ key is only for opening the console inside Demorecord. If you're in-game normally, there is no console and you just type the commands into the chat window to get them to work.

The commands for it are:

/setregionfov space 55 (Space only)
/setregionfov ground 55 (Ground only)
/gfxsetdefaultfov 55 (Space & Ground)

55 is the standard default setting.

Yea [Page up] or [Page down] or wheel scroll with zoom in on your ship, for screenshots as I just showed you. Perhaps you zoomed out, rather than in?

You can’t make the ship bigger, but you can zoom in. Use the command /gfxsetdefaultfov 20 that will significantly zoom your game and make the ship appear bigger. Run the command again and change the value to whatever you find comfortable. I find 55 is a good middle ground for just playing.
