I'm from Europe and with a 2000 zen purchase I managed to get the 2100 ship and got 500 spare zen for the module. Maybe due to conversion of euro to bucks. 2000+200 +400 zen for 20 euros. (Charge bonus applied. Probably euro to dollar conversion applied too.)

I'm also using Arc. Perhaps steam doesn't do that 10% zen bonus for europe purchases.

I also use Arc for purchases. I use the standalone launcher for the game. We do not get that 10% extra in our purchases in the US.

TS2 with any torp would outparse the distributed targeting 1.

Distributed targeting is highly viable on Cannon Rapid Fire setups, since it's basically a splash added to that single target burst of energetic death train of hits and crits.

With news of the Gagarin coming to consoles soon, I have decided it's time to move on from my Fleet Arbiter Battlecruiser. Eventually I would love to switch over to phaser or disruptors but buying and upgrading the sensor linked weapons is a long term goal. For now, I will basically be moving over my Aux2B Antiproton beam boat from the Arbiter (very similar to this build) but I do have a few questions...

1. Aft Weapons

Most builds go with one omni and two beam arrays and I do have enough upgraded beam arrays to do that. I get that the beam arrays will generally do more damage when broadsiding, which is most of the time but I'm debating going with all omni/turrets and the matching consoles for set bonuses. Would something like this be worse than just sticking with 2 advanced fleet antiproton beam arrays and one omni...

Trilithium Turret / Martok Omni / Kinetic Cutting Beam

With the matching consoles that gives three set 2 bonuses and the KCB actually shows higher damage and dps than my beam arrays although I understand that kinetic does less damage to shields. My Tac Locators are +beam so the different energy types from Trilithium, Martok, KCB and Terran Taskforce Disruptor BA are not so bad. Also, I think using the Trilithium turret would count as a cannon and be all I need to trigger Mixed Armament 3, correct?

2. Torpedo Launcher

Everytime I do a new build I always want to include a torpedo but I always feel that a beam firing all the time with procs is better dps than a torpedo that fires once every 12 seconds and often doesn't even reach its target before the target is destroyed. Having said that, I again find myself debating adding the crystalline torpedo. It's damage is boosted by all my +AP consoles and does same dmg vs shields or hull so I can use it all the time rather than trying to sneak it in between shield dropping and destruction. Am I better off just sticking with 5 beam arrays up front?

3. Mixed Armaments 3 vs Reverse Shield Polarity

What are your thoughts on which is best for the Gagarin? Without RSP my only shield heal would be Em Power to Shields 1 which probably is not enough. I have several heal consoles (Ablative, Protomatter, Regenerative Integrity) but I also have a lot of good consoles I would rather use. My Arbiter is pretty tough and the only thing that really causes me trouble now is Feedback Pulse which causes me to kill myself and in those cases having Regenerative Integrity Field set to Auto Execute at 50% health is a life saver (literally) but that's taking a console slot for something that isn't helping in every fight.




I can post the full build later if more detail is needed but for now, your thoughts on these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I shoot you a PM later with my Gagarin Boff powers, it's probably not perfect but it manages to kick ass and come out smiling. It's a little more fragile than my Excelsior but it's fun, plus the trait suits me well by keeping FAW and TS up most of the time.

Out of curiosity does anyone have suggestions as replacements for the consoles that require the ownership of the NX-Refit, Prtotype Dreadnaught or the Elachi Lobi console? I don't have access to any of those.

I would suggest looking at the quantum phase converter from the mission Sunrise and a Conductive RCS console with either [ResAll] or [EPS] (it requires level 15 in engineering R&D or you can buy it on the exchange)

Can the Advanced Inhibiting Phaser Omnj-Directional Beam Array be used with a normal crafted Omni-Phaser as well like the ancient omni and an anti-proton crafted omni or are they mutually exclusive?

That is from the Gamma Rep and only available after reaching Tier 6 sorry. Also no, you can only equip one omni-directional beam at a time.
