    So the new Picard show is going to be streaming on Amazon Prime exclusively internationally.. I’m not paying for another subscription service just to watch this.

    I already have Prime for the free next day shipping so it’s good news for me.
    Plus I watch other stuff on both Netflix and Amazon anyway so I get pretty good benefit from both.

    this could indicate that DSC might move to Amazon aswell. afaik Netflix did not want to pay as much as they did for S1 for S2 due to general backlash at the start of the series..

    It was probably more of a situation that they just got out bid by Amazon. I read somewhere that Amazon is paying upwards of 15 million per episode which would be significantly more than what Netflix paid for Discovery.

    The backlash of Discovery I still believe is from a very vocal minority which is driven by a group of YouTubers that are fanning the flames. When I visit the episode discussions on Reddit and other large message boards they are predominately positive, even the votes this community have given, the naysayers are in the minority.
