[Guide] - Alternate Consoles, Traits and Abilities

Greetings!

I noticed that one of the flaws of my builds is the fact that they represent the high-end but also high cost factor of the game and that many are not able to get said Traits, Ships, Doffs or Consoles.

For this I have compiled a list of alternatives you can get either very cheap or are mission rewards. This list the most useful ones that can be used on all ships, for a more detailed list check the STO Wiki.

Haste Abilities/Consoles/Traits:

Timeline Stabilizer (Is a decent Haste Console but pulls more Agro than the others)
D.O.M.I.N.O. (Is the best Haste/Damage Boosting Console)
Temporal Trajectory Shifter (Is the best Haste Boosting Console)
M6 Computer (It is the worst haste console only use it if you don't have the others)
Focused Frenzy (Tactical Ultimate)
Calm Before the Storm (Is a must have for DPS)
Emergency Weapon Cycle (Is a must have for DPS)

CrtH/CrtD Consoles/Traits:

Temporal Disentanglement Suite (Best used on Science Ships with High Aux Power)
Assimilated Module (Okish but outdated)
Zero Point Energy Conduit (Has the 2nd highest static boost of CrtH at Max Level on a single console)
Bioneural Infusion Circuits (Has the highest static boost of CrtD at Max Level on a single console)
Tachyokinetic Converter (Has the best CrtH and CrtD at max Level on a single console)
Precision (CrtH New Romulus Reputation Trait)
Advanced Targeting Systems (CrtD Dyson Joint Command Trait)
Tyler's Duality (CrtH Discovery Legends Reputation Trait )
Lorca's Custom Fire Controls (Has the highest static boost of CrtH at Max Level on a single console)

Alternate Traits Beam Build:

I am putting the Traits into categories from A to C with A being a must have and C you have nothing better.

Cold-Hearted (AA) (It is just that good, this Trait is beyond awesome)
Emergency Weapon Cycle (A) (Is a must have on all Energy Weapons Builds)
Redirecting Arrays (A) (Is a must have on all Beam Boats)
Calm Before the Storm (A) (It is a large Haste Boost but you have to look on your Buffs and watch the counter to bring yourself into the best position)
Promise of Ferocity (A) (Huge Cat2 Damage Boost)
Heart of Sol (B-) ( It can be a decent Boost)
Strike from Shadows (C) (Good CrtH Boost but less effective on AoE Beam Boats)

I was actually thinking about this as I was reading one of your builds about a week or so ago... rather peculiar that you recognized it, as I was thinking of PM'ing you directly or posting a response to one of your builds to suggest this idea.

I enjoy your build posts, as they're very informative- but they indeed do all repeatedly seem to use a lot of consoles which are a bit difficult to obtain (D.O.M.I.N.O. for example, being one of them, as it's currently unavailable outside of a Epic Phoenix Prize reward, which you can't get until they run the event again) for most players. I do understand that you're listing out the most ideal choices, however.

It may help to create a table of alternatives to them directly- just a thought. Listing out what you commonly use is somewhat helpful, but doesn't answer the question as to what's directly relevant for replacement. Such as "D.O.M.I.N.O. => Use this instead", etc. Or, even perhaps- post a "budget" comparison so that players who are striving to obtain the ideals have something to utilize in the meantime. If you did the latter- you could even run some parse numbers so that people can see the differences, too. (more time consuming, but really helps to demonstrate the effectiveness of improvement)

Just a thought.

What about the following consoles:

- Reinforced Armaments
- Ordnance Accelerator
- Quantum Phase Converter

Questions:

- how will you recommend I prioritize these consoles? What should I replace my Assimilated Module with as I use that currently? Perhaps, temporal Trajectory Shifter?

- Does the Borg Tech 2 set help with haste/weapon power cost at all or is worth it? That means assimilated module + cutting beam

This was in the works for some time, I just did not had the time to do somethign with it.

Its not a console, its a starship trait from the Cardassian Ghemor Intel Flight Deck Carrier
