I know. Point was that "sleeker" look from season 1 and 2 won't be back because the saucer RIM was too thin for 10-forward.

Ahh I see. That's weird as they didn't start using the 4ft model until season 4 and Ten Forward was introduced in season 2. Never knew that was the reason though.

So I asked the question about the twitter post on last nights Ten Forward Weekly (right at the very beginning of the stream) and Ambassador Kael could not confirm or deny the source of the image. However, later in the stream he was asked again about the Enterprise D image and he said "its not for something coming this year".

I believe it could be related to STO's 10th Anniversary, and we may be seeing the hero ships of Star Trek get some sort of visual update. They did tease that at STLV by saying "command the ships you've always wanted", so my guess is not only are we possibly getting ships like the Oberth and the Nova class, but also updates to the current canon ships including the Galaxy class.

I think as well I saw somewhere that the next update or anniversary event is called Star Trek Online: Legends, which would tie in perfectly with overhauling current in game canon content like the Galaxy class and the Klingon TNG uniform etc.

So, as the STO team have already confirmed they are attending the Destination Birmingham event this weekend, I wonder if they will have anything to share about the tweeted Galaxy class picture. Hopefully they may shed light on some info regarding the Anniversary event. I'm dying to find out more about the teased Galaxy class image, and I have my fingers crossed that its linked to a unique T6 variant with a in built saucer separation module, but I'm playing it safe and guessing it will just be a visual update which I'm totally happy with. We shall see.

You know what I think? They are going to introduce the updated Galaxy as a new type of specialist ship. Which is how we get to be ships we've always wanted to fly. That way they can slowly release them (or package them into a group of them). Not sure what the new specialist type would be. All things considered, I'd probably guess on something that can take a bloody beating. Something akin to the more damage you take, the better your stats and stuff.

So a class you have to play dangerously to get the most out of it.

What's the gimmick? Why Torpedo Bay(s). Works like Experimental Weaponry, except Torpedo based. And yes, that would mean you'd have one torpedo that can hit 360. Though Cruiser auras, Science Sensors and Experimental Weaponry get replaced. Also the skills for the class would only effect the Torpedo Bay. So use a Torpedo Bay skill and it would override Torpedo Spread. Allowing you to volley out both the Torpedo Bay skill (what ever AoE one is) and Torpedo Spread skill.

I think that would be a neato thing, honestly speaking. And what I'm hoping for with that update. I know I'll be wrong with this, but still. Hopeful.

If they decided to put the new Galaxy model as a variant behind a new promotion/lockbox, I would be absolutely (profanity filter overload)!! I mean hopefully they wouldn't be so daft to do that, but thinking about recent lockbox/promotions anything is possible. Fingers crossed that's not the case lol.
