Yeah, I was reading somewhere (haven't confirmed it myself) that it looks like some of them are wearing Klingon sashes? Maybe the Empire has broken away and become dominant over the Federation/Alpha/Beta Quadrants?

Maybe, or maybe the Federation has become more Militaristic, abandoning the old Ideals of the Federation. It is intriguing though how prominent the Andorians are featured in the trailer, makes me think they had a hand in how things became the way they did.

I'm actually looking forward to this Discovery season. Also, I don't think Federation has aged well in the future - less number of stars on the future federation flag. Nevertheless, this is not so unbelievable.

I'm intrigued by the trailer.

A little more optimistic about the show than I was at the end of S2.

I'll be honest, I'm a little nervous about this season as from the trailer it does make you think the UFP fell.

I Discovery makes it her mission to restore that.... I'll not only be getting Andromeda vibes xD it just seems a bit much for people and a ship that are a millennium out of date almost.

Let's be honest, I'd bet that a Galaxy Class could devastate a Crossfield. Let all me what there is on the 31st or 32nd century. Plus isn't time travel like a normal thing then too.

This is something I was concerned about myself at the end of season 2.

All I can hope is they have an explanation for it. But I would have to say while this is a new "Sandbox" so to speak. We have had hints that the Federation was alive and well in the 31st Century. Crewman Daniels can be thanked for those brief glimpses.

One thing is for sure. It should be an interesting season.

As January draws closer, I'm looking forward to season 3 and hope it ties up some lose ends and doesn't go off the rail . But if it doesn't play out nicely, we at least will have Picard to fall back on also in January

Can't believe I hadn't seen that trailer yet. I'm looking forward to it. Although there are varying amounts of quality between the different Star Trek shows, all Trek is still good Trek.
