I was a kid when this came out, I saw it in the theater. Captain Kirk was my childhood hero. I watched "Wrath of Khan" on VHS until it was nothing but "fuzz" and was unplayable. When I saw "Generations" and that he died, I literally cried in my seat. (Sorry spoilers, but hey it has been 25 YEARS...lol...) It reminds me of Star Trek V, when Kirk said "...I've always known I'll die alone...." In a way he was right, he was the only one there; but again, he did have Picard, so in another way he wasn't alone. But in reality to "history" he did die alone in the deflector control room on the Enterprise B when the ribbon hit it. So I guess both parts is true, he did "die" alone but didn't "die" alone. Depending on how you take it.

In anycase, I cried when Kirk died and Picard stood over his grave. It was a solemn moment for me because it was a passing of a great man inside the Trek universe.

Ironic that Bones said that he should have been killed when he fell off that mountain. In Generations, he did die from falling off a mountain... and neither Bones and Spock were present on Enterprise B or the planet surface in Generations when Kirk fell with the bridge off the mountain and died. Star Trek V may have its faults but it did have a foreshadowing here if viewed in perspective.

Spock almost looked sad at the end of what Kirk said. Like a sad puppy almost...

yup January is Voyager's 25th Anniversary.... perhaps (and one could only hope) STO could give us the proper Endgame Admirals Uniform.(with the gold piping)... Armored Shuttle …. but also, and we know this would be the case IF it happens: the Warship upgrade to the Intrepid class.... which would probably wind up being R&D.... anyway... good ideas LOL Attachment 11626Attachment 11627Attachment 11628

I rememeber my dad taking me to see Generations in the cinema, it was one of the few films he took me to see but we shared our passion for Star Trek ^_^

Generations was good for its time, the HD of the Enterprise D was really good, and getting a side story to Guinin was good too. The gripe I have is that they reused the Bird of Prey explosion footage from Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country. I mean common, you did everything else original, but you use the same BoP explosion from the last movie like no one would notice???

Yet, imagine the look in his eyes (Kirk) when he sat down in the big chair on the Enterprise B... It was like he was "back"...

He should have let that scrawny white pasty guy go down to the deflector control room because no one would remember him anyway in history... Kirk would own it whether he was in the chair or not... let the man be in the chair one more time...

First Contact was my favorite TNG movie, while I enjoyed all the TNG movies, Generations did some odd things. Such as randomly having the actors switch between TNG and early DS9/VOY uniforms and switched back and fourth throughout the movie . I'm sure it was just how the movie was put together and when the shots were filmed but it would've made more sense to just put them in the DS9/VOY uniform from the beginning of the movie. And then we go right to my favorite Trek uniform in First Contact. But at least they started right off in that uniform

Frakes can still pull off a Riker today with some minor hair coloring I think... Patrick is ageless but Shatner got fat since Generations... too many eggs from Antonia in the Nexus probably...

Could you imagine if it'd been Q who'd appeared in the Nexus with Picard instead of Guinan. That would have been hilarious.
