I would like to discuss the current policy regarding slotting Fleet Projects, it was brought to my attention that a revamp might be necessary so more projects are available.
Please fill out the Poll and also post how you feel about the current situation and your opinion and possible solutions below.

Be good to hear opinions on this.
I shall remain neutral in the poll as I have power to slot the projects myself so i'm not in the same boat as most members!
That said I do realise different people have different needs; some want fleet mark dumps, others have lots of doffs, some are happy to part with dilitihum. So keeping is flexible and suitable for all members is important.

Here what I think: no one likes to donate doff to projects. I been working on the same projects for about month now due to this. But maybe that due to me donating to fleet 4 LOL. They'll fill everything else up though just doffs remain. *sadface*

Heh - I find Doff donating is usually the only way (apart from Dil, thats usually available I just dont have that much Dil...) I can get any fleet marks. My problem is that I have my Doff roster pretty much full and dont have any common doffs. When I see a Doff fleet project, I often hit the exchange multiple times to convert some EC into marks via Doffs...
After Gamma recruit, I have quite a lot of the 'provisions' kicking around, but hardly ever see any projects taking them.

Tbh. I understand this, unfortunately those projects are mandatory.
I also know why people are not interested. Way too many clicks to buy fleet doffs with FCs to donating them. It does take quiet a while. It's why try to jump in and fill them all up when I can.
Would be great if there was an alternative to this. Will check if there is anything more suitable.

DOFFs can be purchased from Fleet Starbase using fleet credits.

Personally I have a massive surplus of fleet marks that I can't seem to find projects to dump them in when I need fleet credits. Occasionally I see the surplus fleet marks projects but I tend to avoid them since Cryptic decided it was a good idea to give less credits per mark for those projects.
Are there any recurring projects that can slotted regardless of circumstance that would allow for more donations?

I've not actually had any specific requests when in game; I think many members stay silent on the projects. Perhaps they do not realise they can request them.
I always try to make sure there are the surplus fleddits ones but they are rewarding half value; not ideal.
It is really tricky though because as others have said, some projects get stuck in limbo once the flarks have been filled up. Not many people are willing to part with dilithium it seems and doffs are always a massive pain in the behind.
To be perfectly honest I wish the doff contributions worked on a sliding scale - 10 common doffs, 5 greens, 2 blues, 1 purple etc. to complete a project for example. That would free up so many doffs without needing to grind them down to common and take up space in your roster.

My vote is for the starbase project: coordinate colonization efforts
it needs fleet marks (for full payout), EC (too easy to come by) and civilian doffs (which we get alot from admirality and doff downgrinding).
so please keep those projects running as much as possible (in the entire armada).
I came to the situation several times that i would have needed to dump civilians but no projects were avaible while 3-4 surplus fleet marks projects were running (in the entire armada)

I'm in the same boat as my compatriot and fellow Quartermaster, Sul-Matuul. I have the ability to start projects, so if I ever really NEEDED a project, I could start it. The thing is, I have never NEEDED a project. A little peek behind the curtain here: I adhere to the guidelines for Fleet Projects. If a provision is below 250, I start the corresponding project. There are, of course, exceptions - there are mandatory projects that are slotted no matter what, and Kurland's threshold is 100, not 250. But that's it. That's when a Project gets started.
I don't know what can be done to open up more Projects. Short-term we could raise the Project start threshold to 400 or 500 or whatever, but once the new level is achieved, we're right back here. Besides, upping the Project start threshold would require giving up MORE DOffs and DIL that people already don't want to part with. This is the way the Projects are constructed. People have to give up things they don't want to give up (DOffs and DIL and Fledits) in order to be able to give up the things they do want to give up (EC, Marks, materials, and Expertise). If we slot more projects, so that more people can spend Marks or EC or Expertise, those extra projects will languish because of the DOff and DIL requirements. Also, any extra Projects will take away from the Starbase construction in 4th Fleet and the Colony construction in Kular. Short of disbanding the Armada and starting over, I'm not sure what we can do.
But if there's a brainstorming session, call me.

The problem with Coordinate Colonization Efforts is that it only take 510 Marks and 64 Civvies. While Unload Surplus takes 2,000 Marks. Yes, it's half the return, but the turnaround is much better for Unloading than for Coordinating. If you need to dump Engineers or Scientists or Tacticians, there are PLENTY of projects that need them. If you need to offload prisoners? Sell them, I guess.
It makes more sense for KDF to run Coordinate because of the Prisoner problem. FEDs don't run into that too often.

That's it. That's all they're for. Improving the holding and rewarding Fleet Credits. But then you can buy things with Fleet Credits. Things like the 6th Active Duty slots, and the last Admiralty slot, and the 5th trait slots, and ships and consoles and weapons and all kinds of things.

Speaking as someone who just recently kitted out a new character from scratch I can confidently say farming for large amounts of Fleet Credits suck. And by suck I actually mean suck a lot.
After two weeks without any decent stuff to deposit on anywhere in the armada I actually spend six figures of dilithium on projects to get at least enough credits for Vulnerability Locators. And yes, I could spend an ungodly amount of Fleet Marks at half the value, but since I was still grinding for reputation marks this was a no-go. It probably wasn't made any easier by living in the EU and only logging into the game in the evening when all Fleet MArks were already filled up.
Currently it is an absolute nightmare to gear a new toon with fleet stuff and since you actually need quite a few Fleet Credits to kit out a toon it will either take a long, long, long, LONG, LONG time to do so or it forces you to spend dilithium.

Speaking as someone who just recently kitted out a new character from scratch I can confidently say farming for large amounts of Fleet Credits suck. And by suck I actually mean suck a lot.
After two weeks without any decent stuff to deposit on anywhere in the armada I actually spend six figures of dilithium on projects to get at least enough credits for Vulnerability Locators. And yes, I could spend an ungodly amount of Fleet Marks at half the value, but since I was still grinding for reputation marks this was a no-go. It probably wasn't made any easier by living in the EU and only logging into the game in the evening when all Fleet MArks were already filled up.
Currently it is an absolute nightmare to gear a new toon with fleet stuff and since you actually need quite a few Fleet Credits to kit out a toon it will either take a long, long, long, LONG, LONG time to do so or it forces you to spend dilithium.
I totally understand where you're coming from. It is a massive problem that the developers just will not address.
The vast majority of fleets in the game are at maximum in terms of holdings or close to, so there is barely any system to generate a decent flow of fleet credits. Slotting any of the regular provision projects gives best return from marks but the stuff like doffs and dilithium leaves the projects stuck for an eternity; especially on the secondary fleets we have. I've seen projects sit for weeks without being filled. I dare say the rest of the armada is in the same boat sadly.
The alternative is the Unload Surplus projects which have rapid turn around but are only half the value.
Cryptic desperately need to add in some alternate way to earn credits that is of value and use to new members of existing maxed fleets.
