When I first started, I stuck with Antiproton. My reason, however, is pretty weird. They're red. I tend to have a red theme going on with some of my ships/weapons.

Later, I started expanding to using one of the -linked phasers, since they're also red.

I am currently using the covert phasers, they're red and look nice, I do miss the regular phaser sound, so I might go back to those one day, or upgrade my pulse phasers arrays to epic and stick em on my Miranda/Excelsior hehehe

If you're a tank, don't use them, they have -50% threat on them, which is nice when you don't wanna be the target =P

For instance my Temporal Recruit has a full set of the 23c fleet weapons from K13 because blue phasers are life! Her away team use 23c ground weapons and all their skills are the 23c versions where possible.

What they need to do is give us cosmetic weapon visuals. They've done it with ship sets and shields, couldn't be that much harder to implement (relatively speaking)
