Is there any desire for an in game, realtime Roleplay project series?

Sadly not, I simply don’t have the time. I dabbled in RP in STO a few years ago but the fleet I was involved in took themselves far too seriously and that overzealous behaviour put me off.

Haha we aren't all that maniacal.This would be plot based. No roles or dice or anything like that. Just good old fashioned, plot and character development.

We did this way back in the day and it was a LOT of fun. We used STO and did the Romulan Republic path. We met and RP'd out the decisions as a small mini-fleet, and then went out and rocked the pew-pew missions. It was a lot of fun. It is quite a commitment, as is any "live" (or synchronous) event series. I couldn't partake, but would love to see it going again.

I applaud the effort and drive. It is a lot of fun, but I know I that I just don't have the interest in STO anymore. It may be shallow, but the graphics are a bit too dated for me now.

However, I wish that it moves forward and that you can find a group here in the UFP to move forward with this.

Perhaps, it can be a loose weekly event. Give some sustenance to a dailies grind one day a week or so. I can see you having more success with that than a regular static group of 3-4 players.

There is also the newer Star Trek Bridge Crew over on Steam nowadays. If there wasn't as much of an emphasis on missions with that game it would be a good candidate for roleplay since you play as officers on the same ship.

This is how I see it;

You don't need official support for this. The fleets have many holdings to use and even Starship Bridge layouts to invite friends into.

It becomes a matter of being the organizer and finding key people within the fleet willing to partake into RP. The best way would have to be impromptu RP, where there is no script but a game admin to set an "atmosphere/scene". Characters would have to be on page and self-regulated when it comes to interactions.

Just like the impromptu DS9 Quarks RP which happens. Bunch of random people from all walks of different fleets just self-regulating their own characters and remaining in-character. Not sure if that thing still runs though, as its been several years.

But yea, as long as you can even find 2 more people - it can be fun.
