Hi there! Recently applied to join and looking forward to joining the fleet in-game too.
I left my prior fleet today after disagreements about a fleet wide re-branding towards a Terran aesthetic. I'm a CAITIAN, a loyal part of the Federation, not a darned Terran! I looked over the official STO recruitment forums and was impressed with the professionalism of the UFP. I've been looking for something like this for a long time.
I've played STO since beta, though I did leave for a few years (in the intervening years when there arguably wasn't much content) but came back for the Romulan expansion and have stayed ever since. I'm now a lifetime subscriber and have not looked back.

Thanks, Captain. 
To be fair, I was thinking about leaving them for a while now. Just one of those times when you notice a fleets activity rapidly dropping off and the leader/founder begins using it as their own private bank and nothing else. That and the fact we'd left a successful armada months ago and were still not in a new one. Sad, but eh.. it happens. I still talk to them. I'd just prefer to be in a community that was actually active.

The UFP is one of the most organized and structured fleets in the game. It's a good group of enthusiastic people who bring a wide array of interests and talents to the community. I'm glad I found them, and am sure you will be too.

Looks like I made the correct choice.
The leader of my previous fleet messaged me today with profanity and things best not mentioned here, simply for leaving the fleet. I left without a fuss. I took nothing from the bank, despite my high rank there. I could've cleared it out. I did not.
I've always got along well with this person and always been friendly with them, helping out their fleet massively with huge amounts of dil (millions and millions) for fleet projects. The fact they'd message me this way doesn't make me angry.. it just makes me sad.
Oh well. New starts and all.
