If a team of freighters can take on the Borg then Cryptic needs to overhaul the Borg again to be more frightening and tough...

T4? Been a while since they have released a low-level ship. 3 fore 2 aft weapons is better than taking a cell ship in, which I think has 2 fore and 1 aft. I always thought the Maru was a modified Miranda Class ship, it would be nice if the model was unlocked for that class because I always like kitbashing...

You know what i'd really love?

If you can kitbash the KBM with the rest of the Miranda class parts......i guess one can only dream.

So, by minimal, they mean one less weapon than a modern T6 science vessel.

Thing is, I'm not even surprised they put a flyable freighter in game *sigh*

"Flyable" is debatable. The handling stats are maybe as good as a T4 sci ship with durability, BOFF seating and weapon and console slots more on par with a T3 Klingon bird-of-prey. I'm guessing the devs thought the amenities or the challenge of playing an underpowered ship would be the appeal.

Toss on a wide-angle torpedoes and cannons or even beams and you can have a technical 4 energy and 1 torp boat. Because even if you did beams you can have a special or set omni beam in the aft and a crafted omni in the aft since you can run both like that and then two dual beam banks and a torp... man that ship will be tough for a T4. The boff setup though might need some tweaking since it is going to be light on powers.

There is obviously gonna be no T6 progression traits and I doubt it will be upgradable since it is a T4 and only T5 could go to T5U.

I can see some probably going in a PvE with a sup'd up freighter like a beater car with rims...

I think "Solace", we should have a "Defend Starbase One" with whatever freighter you have... The Maru, or the Cardi freighter, or the Cell ship... just let rip the freighter team... at least it is an interesting concept to swing at... I doubt anyone has actually done a full freighter PvE team before... the challenges and the unique nature of the ship itself... my vote is at least one round of it for giggles.
