After the arrival of Burnham in 3188 last week, this episode deals with the arrival of the USS Discovery itself and her crew as they get their bearings and locate Burnham. You can find an episode preview and promotional photos here. I also found a better logo from Google for going forward.

"Far From Home" is episode 2 of 13.

Another very well done episode. i thought going to watch again later though as i had interuptions whilst watching.

I enjoyed this episode over the previous one, nice little nod to Gene Roddenberry with the name of the guy who was cleaning out the reaction cube.

Oh so the V'Draysh were mentioned, wonder if this is the slang for the Fed now or perhaps an offshoot. I did find it interesting in Calypso that Crafts people were at war with the V'Draysh, perhaps they're a more militant offshoot that broke off from the FED in order to survive post burn.

Another decent episode. Now that the rest of the main players have been brought back into the story, it will be interesting to see where the story goes. Rebuild the Federation? Uncover the mystery of the Burn? The first two seasons of Disco featured a "big bad" first in the Klingons and then Control? Will we uncover a new "big bad" this season too?

I am glad they didnt do the whole season searching for each other. so they let the guy live who is obviously going to come back and get revenge .

Rewatched last night and a few thoughts now.

Stamets and Reno stole the episode for me though Rapps could have toned the overacting down a little in the Jefferies tube, I was expecting it to be Saru and Tilly with them going to seek help and thought they were good together but just not the same. I was expecting time to pass between Burnham finding them and whatnot but a year. I wonder are we now going to see a massive jump from the 1st episode to now with Burnham and I suspect we are in for a few flashbacks in episodes to come. I hope we dont get 3 episodes filling them blanks in now rather than whats happed and what casued the burn and more.

True but I'm still counting as now days any TV series / Star Trek comes with limited number of episodes. Gone are the days where 1 season had at least 15-25 episodes... and their budgets were much lower!

I couldn't quite figure out what was the issue with Denvers? Trauma or?

Everything about Federation is still a question mark which makes me want to watch the next episode and hopefully its not just about Burham reuniting with Discovery or budget filler episode but also educative on what the state of galaxy is and what happend to federation. Also possibly.... address how they will the "future space residents" react to see an antique having flight. Because a 1904 Rolly Royce is still a 1904 Rolls Royce lol. Anyway let's see, they got quite a few more things to address as well, which means Discovery's weaponary should be useless currently unless they upgrade it to current Fed Standards.

I don't know the plot of it and I've not seen any photos or whatnot, but you shouldn't be disappointed. I'll double spoiler this one -
Frakes directed episode 3, titled "People of Earth" and it has Discovery returning to Earth to start looking for answers.

I am with you on that one i was thinking something to do with her implant but given that they are commonplace so far in the show you would assume that when she was medically cleared that was also checked so is it just a confidence thing now or something more.

one thing is that maybe because it has been a year that most of the information the rest of Discovery needs should be known and wont have to be dragged out through a bunch or Episodes

Well done episode, I was hoping that the built up scene would end with Georgiou cleaning house and wasn't disappointed. If the rest of the season plays out like this, this will be the best season thus far .

And all the jabs that Jett had were hilarious!
