    Microsoft-Activision Deal

    This is huge if it goes through as it would be the most expensive acquisition the gaming industry has ever seen. Not only that, it could finally see the end of Bobby Kotick as I suspect MS would likely clear house and replace most (if not all) the company leadership in due course in light of all the allegations that have been thrown over the last year or so.

    (I really hope they can optimize the gameplay of World of Warcraft if possible, since 9.0 I've gone AFK and switched to Final Fantasy 14 →_→)

    Microsoft exec 1: Listen, Playstation out sold us last generation and they're outselling us this generation, how do we fix it?
    Exec 2: Buy up all the big developers and make the games exclusive so that Sony can't have them?
    Exec 1: Genius.

    That being said while they have said that Kotick will be staying, at least for now, if they do eventually get rid of him, that would be the silver lining. If someone can hopefully turn around the abuse and discrimination though it could be Phil Spencer, which is good.

    I'm hoping that this will be good news in the long term as Blizzard have been a bit meh lately in how they operate. In the grand scheme, Microsoft is the more ethical company and I hope that will rub off

    All we need now is for someone to buy EA out then the world really will start to burn (more than it is already I guess) as with Activision-Blizzard now felled, EA can go back to being the bad guy again!

    Ironically I just saw a CNN article come through on my Google News feed talking about whether EA will be the next big target. Also speculation on Ubisoft and Roblox as the next big targets. Apparently it is acquisition season in the gaming world right now.
