And now for the second day in a row we have new info on Star Trek works. It is becoming more confusing why this wasn't a first contact day announcement with each piece of news we get.

This looks brilliant.
Kirk has rapidly risen through the ranks too, bar them doing another time travel thing, he's already wearing Captain's insignia on his sleeves.

I don't know. I want to like SNW, but the writing here with Spock, and with Kirk in the revolving door, makes me feel like these icons of my Star Trek experience are mentally deficient. Everything that I know about Kirk and Spock says that they are geniuses...some of the best that Starfleet has ever produced, but the writing here does not convey that. Maybe it just isn't my brand of humor, but after Season 3 of Picard, watching a disciplined, structured crew in action and practice, with smart humorous quips thrown in here and there, the writing in SNW veers too closely to the writing in Discovery for my liking. Don't get me wrong...I like SNW, but I think that I like it less after Season 3 of Picard. For me, the bar has been raised for this next generation of Star Trek shows.

I cant wait for season 3 and see where this takes the crew. I would love to see a few movies from this group on a big screen ! Im curious to see how they Bring in Captain Kirk, im surprised hes a captain already I didnt think he had his rank till the Enterprise? Although this timeline is different more in line with the Prime timeline.

What makes it even better in case anyone doesn't realise, the folks playing Boimler (Jack Quaid, who even has the purple hair) and Mariner (Tawny Newsome) are indeed the regular actors for the characters.
The uniform has translated into live action extremely well.
