    GAMMA

By Commander Craig McClintock, Captain Captain Joshua Broughm Ph. D., Lieutenant Commander Samual Quinn, Petty Officer Kenneth Belder & Lieutenant Jennifer Simms.
    Mission: Decon
    Location: U.S.S. August, Various
    Timeline: SD241107.31

    === MAIN BRIDGE, DECK 1 ===

Commander Craig McClintock nursed his daily raktajino as he sat in the centre chair, slowly becoming more comfortable in his surroundings, but he always enjoyed the early shifts. As Executive Officer, he enjoyed the ability to create his own schedule, which means - perennially the very definition of an early-riser - the Scotsman actually had duties aside from his usual morning routine. But as the Operations station chirped alerts, the serenity was immediately broken.

=^= "Engineering to Bridge, we have one hell of a problem." =^=

As he stood to approach operations, he answered the call from his chief engineer, the foaming cup forgotten on the armrest.
"McClintock here Quinn, it's too damn early for a problem..but fit is it?"

=^= "Commander, We have Class-1 radiation leak in Main Engineering, it's in the plasma coolant, the EPS grid and currently spreading throughout the ship." =^=

=^= "...Understood. Get your people outta' there and initiate decontamination procedures. Do whatever it takes to fix this Quinn. Bridge oot'." =^=
Only a heartbeat passed before McClintock started issuing orders at warp speed to the bridge crew sharing nervous looks between them.

"Mr. Belder, lockdown deck seven and initiate decontamination protocols. We cannae' allow the radiation to spread to the rest of the ship. And alert Sickbay if they aren't already, they need tae' get doon' there."

"Aye, sir. Lockdown in progress, decontamination protocols are active, and Sickbay's been alerted."

Finally, the Executive Officer reluctantly tapped his chest to do what many officers are loathe to do - haul their Captain from their bed and into a rapidly escalating crisis situation.
=^= Captain Foultish tae' the bridge! =^=

    KLLING TIME PART I

By Lieutenant Casey St. Duiex MD & Lieutenant Jarin Ghemor.
    Mission: Decon
    Location: Earth Spacedock
    Timeline: SD241108.21

Casey smiled and stuck out his hand in greeting. "Glad to meet you Lieutenant. I believe that you are also headed to OP42, correct? Care to join me for a drink?"

“Doctor, I would be delighted to make your acquaintance over a bottle of single malt Kanar” responded Ghemor shaking his hand whilst proceeding to the bar.

Ghemor had spent the majority of his time since graduating visiting some of the famous cities of Earth. London, Paris, Berlin and New York; was in a desperate need for some form of companionship.

He had been missing Cardassia, and the truth was that he found San Francisco lacked any form of order or dedication to the state. Both in the people and the architecture. The most he felt at home was when he visited the old quarter of Moscow with some of his peers at the Academy. In which they tried to tell Ghemor about Stalin’s show trials followed by the penal work camps. Ghemor responded with a laugh “It’s quite an effective system, In Cardassia we still use it today”.

Now Ghemor was just pleased to meet a fellow officer who he would in fact be serving with. Ghemor, despite serving the Federation, still believed in the principles of an Officer and a Gentleman. He understood that this was an old Earth mindset also. But it was clear that the Federation had moved away from these ideals. He saw an example of this with some of his Academy Professors eating meals amongst their students. In Cardassia this could have never happened.

Still Ghemor realised that there would be some comforting uncomforts to the Federation, and he would have to accept these oxymorons as a part of it all. He had job to do, and he was going to do it. Just as soon as it was time to take the transport ship to the colony.

As Casey and Jarin were chatting and making their way to a table Red Alert began to blare, seemingly from everywhere.

Looking at Jarin, Casey could not contain his surprise "What the..."

The Undine had once again infiltrated ESD and were this able to momentarily blind the stations sensors as well as those of the vessels docked in or around the ESD area, just long enough to launch the attack. ESD suffered extensive damage but Casey didn't know the details.

After the attack had begun Casey did a quick reevaluation of their location and proximity to the ESD medical facility.

"Jarin, I'm headed to sickbay to help deal with the casualties. My suggestion is to head to the armory and see what you can do to assist security. When the fighting is over make your way down to medical, we will need you there."

With that Casey took off at run, bypassing the turbo lifts in favor of the avenues connecting the decks. He stopped at one point to deal with a Yeoman with a contusion to her scalp. Lots of blood, potentially a fractured skull, he got the bleeding under control and half carried, half dragged her to sickbay with him.

On receiving the suggestion from Casey, Jarin moved from his place of cover. Picked up a dead security members phaser and quickly marched towards the turbo lift. On reaching security Jarin had commandeered the replicators and had a brief conversation with the assistant chief security officer about equipping the security team with Nanite based grenades.

The plan was simple, the security teams would clear areas of the station with the nanites; which were a combination of Captain Beverly Crusher’s and Admiral Janeway’s design but placed into a grenade propulsion system; and then later cleared with quick short bursts of gamma radiation.

    THE JOURNEY 'HOME'

By Lieutenant Commander Torinth B'Lor, Lieutenant Commander Ian Grant, Lieutenant James Cho, Lieutenant JG Jason Trask & Commissioner William Sulivan.
    Mission: Decon
    Location: Outpost 42 Operations Tent
    Timeline: SD241109.21

Shortly after the few remaining officers arrived and Torinth stood up at the front of the desk, with a padd in one hand, a few moments passed as Torinth looked around the desk before pressing a button bringing up a holo-display of Earth in the center of the desk.

"A few weeks ago Earth Spacedock was attacked by an Undine force. Earth itself was largely untouched by the attack, the Spacedock however was hit with a destructive force which left it crippled and countless officers dead. Spacedock has been repaired however Command has ordered myself and a select group of my senior staff to return to Earth to receive an upgrade to our defensive systems both on the ground and in system space. As well as an update on new procedures being put into effect for all Starfleet Outposts." Torinth paused and looked around the table. "Any questions so far?"

The chief of security had dozens of questions swirling around as the news hit the assembled officers, but he selected the most pertinent one and filed the others for later.
"Do we know how the Undine got past our defenses, right at Earth's doorstep?" he asked, struggling to keep the incredulity out of his voice.

Torinth looked at Cho. "I can't give you specifics just yet Lieutenant, however it's believed that a high ranking officer on Earth Spacedock was an Undine Infiltrator, and used their given clearance to bring down our defenses of the Sol System."

"Guess I'm goin' to earth then, with Lieutenant Madwan MIA squadron command falls on me. When do we leave, ma'am?" Was all Jason could ask right now, Torinth's betazoid talents could tell Jason was processing the news.

"Indeed it does Mr Trask." Torinth looked around the table before changing the holo-display to the route back to Earth. "Myself, Grant and Tam, will take one of the runabouts with yourself in a Sparrow Trask. We will rendezvous with the USS Algor, whom will take us the rest of the way back to Earth. Lieutenant Cho will be left in Command of the Outpost until our return."
